24 young artists exhibit in the public space of Rotterdam.

In 2002 I worked freelance as a project director for the KunstXpress Rotterdam 2002 initiated by Orange Events. The KunstXpress was a exhibition in the public space of artworks that 24 by young and upcoming artists. Each piece resembled the artists reaction to the specific site. During the month of September the art pieces were exhibited throughout the city and the KunstXpress had it’s own ‘artists village’ next to the Dutch Architecture Institute. The village functioned as an information center, hang out for visitors and artists, a bar & restaurant and a place for, lectures, debates, music and film events organized by the participating artists.

Examples of my activities as project director:

- Fundraising, production and co-programming of the ‘Artists Village’ – Member and administrator of the selection committee – Assisting and advising the artists in developing their projects – Finding the right place for the pieces and – organizing permission to place art pieces – PR and communication for the entire project
